My husband and I moved our family to East Norwalk from Manhattan when our daughter, Chloe, was just a year old. I had been working full time in the city but had no experience with a daycare as Chloe has been with a nanny during the workday from the time she was 12 weeks old. After looking at few facilities in the area, Tumblebugs seem to fit our needs and our style best.
The "multi-location" daycares in the area didn't have the same feeling of warmth and community that we felt at Tumblebugs and the hours offered here were also longer than most-which we knew would be helpful with our hectic work schedules.
Now, 4 years later (with a second child also enrolled) I can honestly say that Tumblebugs has been so beneficial to both of our children in so many ways!
The staff at Tumble bugs, from the administration to the wonderful teachers, is just terrific. The center goes out of their way to do fun, educational and unique activities with the children - such as weekly Spanish classes with Miss Patty and special events that they bring-on-site ("Touch-a-truck" and "Critter Caravan" have been among our favorites!)
The teachers at Tumblebugs are also very special. Our children (and my husband and I) have grown to love and respect them as they have been such an integral part of our lives. And I truly feel that they love our children as well, which is what I'm sure every parent hopes for. Franklin, the Director, is also very welcoming and creates an "open door" feeling that promotes feedback from the parents which think is so incredibly important. He always listens and reacts, whenever it is something that is feasible and sensible, for the better good of the center and the families.
We've been so lucky to have formed such wonderful friendships with so many of the parents and faculty at Tumblebugs (relationships that I know will last long beyond our children's years here at the center.) I will truly miss seeing everyone's face each day once our time here is through.
